Lovely old hotel full of charm situated near Plymouth hoe, and within walking distance to the barbican and the city centre.Clean room, fabulous breakfast with good quality meat, and the best hash browns we have ever tasted!

Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Lots of hot water and tea and coffee making facilities.I checked the website for breakfast times which were from 7am and they didn’t open until 7:30am due to low numbers in the hotel which left us right for time for an 8am appointment.Extractor fan didn’t work in the bathroom and no hot water in the sink unfortunately- we did forget to mention this when we checked out.

Very good location as we were going to our Granddaughters Graduation at the Theatre Royal. No radiators working in the bedroom but a fan was available, other than that room was very comfortable & a good breakfast. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

The hotel is a beautiful old building that has been renovated yo a high standard. It is extremely clean & tastefully furnished/decorated. The staff are friendly & helpful. We stayed at the Grosvenor on our way to Cornwall for one night. We had lived in Plymouth many years ago and it was a nice time to reminice. Ideally situated within 100 metres of the Hoe and a short pleasant walk to the Barbican and City Centre.We were met by a very helpful guy at reception. Our room was fairly large and spotlessly clean. The furnture was (old fashioned) dark wood but it suited the buildings age. A few little niggles - the towel rail was loose in the bathroom and the shower head could do with a descale. This did not put us off - the shower was hot and the bed large and comfortable.I would definitely stay at the Grosvenor again and have no hesitation in giving it a 5 star recommendation.

On a trip back to my homeland I stayed at The Grosvenor Hotel in Elliot street very close to the Hoe. From the minute I arrived I was greeted and welcomed by the staff. The breakfast was amazing with wonderful ladies serving table. Due to the hotels closeness to the Hoe and easy walking distance to the shops it was an ideal place to stay. I cannot emphasise enough how without exception the staff and owner went out of their way to make my visit wonderful.

I stayed at the Grosvenor Plymouth for one night whilst walking the South West Coast Path. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I had a comfortable room and very nice breakfast and it was ideally located for both the coast path and the attractions. I was impressed with the staff at the Hotel. The gentleman on reception made me feel very welcome when I arrived late afternoon and was extremely helpful when giving me good advice when I needed an evening meal and taxi. Again, the lady in the restaurant made me feel very welcome and was very friendly and helpful. I felt that they both went the extra mile for the guests.

This is a very well situated small hotel. Whilst the rooms are small (I was in a single) it has everything you need. The rooms and bathrooms are always very clean. Breakfast is plentiful and cooked to order. Staff are always very polite and do whatever they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

We had a couple of nights at the Grosvenor to get a taste if Plymouth. This very clean and comfortable Guest house is in an ideal location . 2 minutes walk to The Hoe, and about 10 minutes to either the Barbican or other way into town for the Drake Shopping centre.Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Great breakfast selection. Again the breakfast room in the basement was very clean and tidy.

Down on business in the Yard and The Grosvenor gives a great place to stay within easy walk of the Barbican. Staff friendly and helpful, rooms and breakfast great. Always look here first when travelling to Plymouth.

Very clean and welcoming. Room spacious and comfortable but furnishings rather old fashioned. Part of a wedding party and great confusion about inclusive breakfast on booking but not honoured. Really ugly repair on sink in bathroom due I presume something slipping off the shelf above which was not level! However, none of this detracted from our stay.

Some of your party had booked with breakfast and some without so paid different prices, normally when you book the room only rate if you then add breakfast in the hotel it is £12 per person per day but we just adjusted your booking so that everyone ended up paying the same as the breakfast inclusive rate (which worked out cheaper for you then £12 per person per day). If you had booked room only this would have been stated in your confirmation email. We have passed your feedback regarding the shelf to our maintenance team. Whenever I stay in Plymouth (my place of origin!) I choose to stay at The Grosvenor, and have done for a number of years.Competitive rates, reasonably sized rooms for single occupancy, very friendly and helpful staff, great choice at breakfast and very conveniently situated.I'll be back . . .

I was staying here after getting married locally. My partner checked in the day before and instantly called me to say they had offered us an upgrade for the celebration which was such a thoughtful gesture! Once in the room it was spacious with plenty of room for hanging dresses and a beautiful on suite with a huge bath. When I entered the room there were petals on the bed and it was such a lovely touch after a wonderful day. The room was super clean and welcoming. The staff were all really friendly and the check in and out process was seamless!! breakfast was pretty good with a wide selection of warm and cold drinks (which I think make or break a brekkie!)Will definitely be recommending this to others to stay at!

Very nice, classic hotel right on the Hoe. City center and Barbican (along the Atlantic coast) can be reached with short walks. Very clean, free parking right by the hotel (only not available on the first night but that can happen). Staff absolutely friendly. It wasn't our first visit to the Grosvenor and we will definitely be back.

From a long trip from France to Liverpool, we decided to book a room at the Grosvenor.Not only the entire team was very friendly, accommodating and professional, I couldn’t fault the room in any way. Plenty of storage, hair dryer, ironing board, iron, kettle, tea/coffee, shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel provided, fresh towels (plenty of them for 3 of us), very clean, spacious room with comfortable beds with extra pillows and covers if needed.The breakfast…. No… let’s get this right… THE BREAKFAST!!!!! All the ingredients were of the highest standard!!! The bacon won me over particularly to be honest. The waitresses were very attentive but not over baring. The enthusiastic “good morning” from the reception team put a smile on my face and spring in my step!!!THANK YOU TO ALL THE TEAM for making our little pit stop an absolute joy.

The family room was perfect for our family if 5 - a separate bedroom with 3 singles, the main room with large double and a separate little dressing room which would be perfect for a baby’s cot. The breakfast was good too! And great location near the ferry terminal and right by the Hoe.

I've a soft spot for old, traditional hotels with old-fashioned furniture and so forth and this hotel is very much that. My room was a comfortable size, the bed very comfortable indeed and there was absolutely no noise to disturb my sleep for the entire night!On arrival, the coffee machine in the bar was broken, but, with coffee in my room, no harm, no foul!Breakfast in the morning was just the perfect amount and delicious! There was a choice of cereal and juice and fresh, hot croissants on offer, kept warm under a glow lamp and a cooked breakfast menu!Overall, this I think this is a lovely little hotel, only five minutes, by taxi, from Plymouth train station.

I use the Grosvenor as it never fails to deliver. Ideally situated next to Plymouth Hoe with its spectacular views and historic monuments. The hotel, and rooms, are to a very high standard and the staff are always friendly and efficient. No doubt I’ll keep coming back.

Pleasant room at the front of the building with bay windows and high ceilings. Breakfast was made to order and service was fabulous. All the staff we encountered in the hotel were friendly and helpful. The only negative was that the bathroom was pokey. The basin was enormous and you couldn’t use the toilet without colliding with the basin.

Great location, clean airy rooms, fab water pressure for showers,everyone is lovely, excellent breakfast options and coffee machine.. The sea front is about a 2 minute walk away and it's absolutely gorgeous in summertime to sit on The Hoe. Easy 12 minute stroll into the Barbican so close to everything you might want to visit and a 4 minute walk to Royal Parade and any buses you might need.You won't find a friendlier hotel for the extremely reasonable prices.

We had a lovely stay everything was lovely except we kept banging our legs on bottom of bed not much room to get round so we have both come home with a few bruises on our legs .We have stayed a few times at this hotel and always found it fine so we will be back but just to avoid room 23 .

We had four rooms between five of us.Our double room was on the small side although with a high ceiling.The bed was small and definitely not a full size double.The size and the poor quality pillows made for a bad night's sleep.Breakfast was ok and we would have tried the bar, had it been open on our return at about 10pm.The receptionist was helpful and booked us two taxis.

We arrived early and parked up intending to do a bit if shopping and check in later. The girl on reception checked and our room was ready so gave us the key. The room was lovely, perfectly clean and bathroom immaculate. To say the hotel is only about 75 yards from The Hoe it was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was as good as always, cereals toast, croissants, full English. Whatever you want. Coffee not so good but I'm fussy over my coffee. I try to take my own with me but I forgot this weekend. I did ok without. Would I go again? Of course !

The internet is not secure with a very poor signal. I was unable to complete reports as the internet was so poor. As a person travelling for work I will not be returning.The breakfast was ample but served on a cold plate and the food was cold within minutes. Myself and a friend had two single rooms.There was everything you needed in the rooms including an iron and ironing board!Very comfortable bed.Staff lovely and helpful.The only downside - we were on the top floor - 61 steps and no lift, but for one night it was fine and we knew about it beforehand.Would definitely return if in the area.

Pleasant staff greeted us, room was ready so were able to check in 2 hours early.Breakfast included which was a nice surprise. Beds are comfy but staying in room 2 is LOUD. You've got the breakfast room below with chairs scraping the floor and people chatting.The main issue with the room is you can literally hear every movement of the person in the room above due to the horribly old creaky floorboards. Shifting their weight in the shower was a prominent noise maker - early in the morning too so no chance of a lie in. Room was dated and could do with an upgrade.room was clean, but the plumbing was noisy- ours and whoever was above / next door to the extent that one could not hear the television.Shower could do with upgrading floor badly stained.Breakfast good but the mugs looked like shaving mugs.Not worth the money and i would have asked for a refund if i had not already paid.Disappointed that there was no reception when we arrived and had to use my personal mobile to gain entrance- not late 8.45pm.

Clean nicely furnished room with comfortable bed and ready access to TV. Neat ensuite but shower a challenge for the less mechanically minded. Worth checking room location if you're over 70 - four flights of stairs can be a challenge. Small fridge could be an asset. Excellent proximity to Plymouth Hoe.

Great location perfect for Plymouth Hoe and only a20 minute walk from the train station and a 17 minute walk to the ferry terminal. Breakfast was excellent too. I would suggest new pillows and a second pillow in the wardrobe for people who like a bit more support. Staff very friendly and helpful

We were staying at The Grosvenor hotel when visiting Plymouth for a concert. The staff were mega helpful helping us get to and fro venue . The hotel is spotlessly clean and the location next to Plymouth Hoe and sound is unrivalled. The hotel is very well located, within walking distance of all interesting places in Plymouth. Staff is friendly and efficient. Room is comfortable enough, with a much appreciated tray with tea/coffee and delicious biscuits, and very quiet. Breakfast is a must, with great food. Hotel was lovely the room & bathroom were clean, the bed was a bit on the soft side but you can’t cater for every taste. The only thing that was slightly disappointed with we were told the day before the breakfast was served from 7 till 10 am. We were checked out of the room by 9.45 & were told the breakfast had finished, but that she was happy to check, we said don’t worry we would go elsewhere, which we did. 10 am finish is exactly what it should be.Not complaining as we would probably stay there again if Micky Flanagan was in town again!

Just back from spending 4 nights in The Grosvenor. Our superior double room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast was great. Highly recommend the cooked option ,sausages were amazing. The ladies at breakfast were very friendly and accomadating. The reception staff were full of information as to where to go and had lots of local knowledge. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be returning as Plymouth is a good base to explore Devon and Cornwall from.

The location, close to the Hoe, is excellent especially if you manage to get on the car park at the back.The rooms generally are a reasonable size and en-suite.Shower in room 5 was ok, but towels were small and badly worn, one with holes, which is unacceptable!It’s been a great hotel over the many year’s we’ve used it, but it’s being allowed to deteriorate at quite a rate.We’ll use it again but hope the standards will improve to previous standards

Had our room booked for ages as we were watching a show at the pavillions. My partner couldn't make it, so my friend accompanied me. I messaged the hotel to see if they could change the room to a twin, as I'm a hot sweaty menopausal mess, and they we're more than happy to, no worries.When we arrived we parked on the main street as the hotel car park appeared full, the lovely chatty receptionist explained that the motorbike is usually there, and there was allocated space for us. Checked in, and all relevant information was shared with us. We ventured up the golden staircase (disclaimer it's not gold) and went to our room which was adequate and clean. We dumped our bags had a quick spruce, and headed to the bar. Again chatted with the friendly staff, before heading out.After an amazing night watching Romesh, and experiencing student night at spoonswe headed back to our room burger and chips in hand. We slept quite comfortably, over sleeping we thought for breakfast. However we were in time, breakfast was really nice, and we stayed drinking tea and coffee for ages. All the staff we met were absolutely lovely. We checked out, and asked if we could leave the car, so we could have a walk on the Hoe, nothing was any trouble and the hotel was so happy for us to leave the car all day if we wanted.Hotel is in a great location for all amenities. Glad we stayed.Thank you, for making our stay so lovely 😍

Really impressed with this hotel. It was a birthday staycation so we just needed simple but the bed was super comfortable, staff were professional but relaxed and easy to chat too. Room was a great size and lovely and clean. Location was fab, hotel was lovely and clearly looked after. We didn’t nab a parking space but were able to park on the front easily. I stay here about once a month and never once had any issues . Sometimes if you are lucky you can park outside but if not there’s loads of street parking nearby . The team are always really friendly and welcoming . There is a bar but I’ve never used it . The hotel is in a great location near the hoe so there’s loads of places to eat and drink within a 10 minute walk . Free WiFi in hotel . Rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great with a good choice . Will definitely stay again .

Brilliant time had in Plymouth and staying at the Grosvenor Hotel played a major part.The Hotel is a lovely old Victorian style residence turned into a hotel accommodation. The interior has a charming aura and the rooms were very clean, cosy, comfortable and more than adequate for all of our needs.The staff were excellent and were more than willing to go out of their way to ensure they catered for all our whims. They were always available and had thorough local knowledge and a genuine good sense of humour to match. They displayed total professionalism and always were very helpful and so pleasant to deal with.Special mention to Debbie and John because they went over and beyond the "call of duty" on each and every occasion, wish other hotels in England could match their approach and attitude....!!!No doubt we will return and look forward to staying at this wonderful hotel.

We stayed one night and were very comfortable. The bedrooms were well equipped with tea, coffee, a small packet of biscuits each and also a hairdryer. Also toiletries. We had a baby in a pram with us and there were steps to the hotel and a few to the room so not ideal for that. We paid extra for the breakfast which was cooked to order and was very good. There was also the usual juices, fruits and cereal to help yourself. The hotel wasn't overlooking the sea but was literally a 2 minute walk to the Hoe which overlooked the sea. Everyone was friendly and helpful.I would happily stay here again

I really enjoyed my stay at the Grosvenor Hotel. It's in a great location - only steps from the beautiful and scenic Hoe - and the hotel itself is really lovely. There is limited parking in back (first come first served) but I never had a problem finding a space there. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very good, also. I would definitely stay here again!

Hi and thanku for a lovely stay in the Grosvenor hotel , the room was a nice size beds are very comfortable and very Importantto me is the pillows , so had a good nights sleep , went shopping centre was ok a little run down , but so many seaside places are because of COVID , the main reason for my stay was the aquarium centre to see the fish and Friday the turtle it’s great wot they do there it’s a must 👍😀😀

We stayed for 2 nights and paid for the superior room which we got and was pleased withThe staff where very good and breakfast very filling and the bonus was free parking at back of the hotel which saved a lot of money for usThe only downside is we were on top floor which is 61 steps to get too,so if you suffer with knees or back problems ask for a room not so high up

Clean, tidy and fresh decoration. Warm welcome, plenty of milk and tea bags on the refreshment tray in the room and a freshly cooked breakfast in the morning. I personally found the room a bit warm and had to turn the radiator down but that is an individual thing. My only warning to people is that there is no lift and we were on the top floor, so lots of stairs - and the breakfast room is in the basement so even more stairs.Not a problem for me but might be for those less able. Great location for Plymouth Pavilions 10 minutes walk away.

Had a lovely 2 night stay, bed was very comfortable and in a great location. Very accommodating to us as we arrive late after a long drive. Only negative was a big crack in the bathroom sink that was just filled with caulk, which I didn’t feel I was able to fill the sink with water. Also an empty shower gel bottle in the shower when we arrived.

The positives: staff are really helpful; location is good and area quiet (even on a Saturday night); spacious bedroom. The negatives: only one pillow provided per person (an additonal one was fetched from another room on immediately on request but ...); furnishings are functional but a bit drab; rm 22 twin room bathroom is nothing like any in the pictures on booking sites - it is tiny with shower over a small bath and with the shower head high enough to wash my hair, it was above the top of the shower screen and drenched the floor (I am only 5'4"!), also just one very small and sloping glass shelf above basin to put anything on.

Staff were all lovely, helpful, polite, informative and cheery, breakfast was very good, fresh, clean and plentiful. Nothing is too much trouble. We were also able to order a takeaway to eat in the lounge and the hotel were happy to provide plates and cutlery. Room was clean warm and roomy, cleaned and tidied daily! Very impressed all round. We got a quiet, spacious room that was well cleaned. Take a note that the matressesare very soft and the bathroom is not the most ergonomical (sink is very small and if you want to wash your face you have to be careful not to hit your head to the glass shelf right above it. It lacksdecorations on the walls. Plain painted walls.Check in and out was very fast and efficient, staff very kind. There are information board available with the upcoming events and the ocean is a minute away with beautiful view and nice cafes.Overal is was a restful stay.

Very nice and warm welcome. Room was small but clean and well equipped. Only negative points are those typical British sink with its separate faucets and not handicap friendly, lots of stairs and no elevator. But hotel had a free parking and very well located.

Was greeted with a wonderful warm welcome when checking in at reception. Every year we do a overnight Christmas trip .our children love a hotel stay its the hilight of December for them .We've been struggling to find a family hotel that can fit us plus three children ( now the youngest is out of a travel cot)Our first time staying here and we would definitely book again!Three full beds for the children in a separate room to us ( bonus)Shower room ( could use a more powerful shower but again super clean tidy and well equipped with towels and toiletries)and a walk in wardrobe/ dressing room. Ample space ! In The past weve felt crammed onto other hotels and by the next morning we are Def ready to go but the space was perfect!Staff super friendly and helpfulIt was surprisingly quiet not a lot of other guests which was a shame tbhBreakfast was well equipped but you could sadly tell because of the small amount of guests that the cooked breakfast had been prepared and left for a while( the bacon was a little chewy and the overall platebof food not very hot ) but having said that the stay was worth more than the breakfast just for comfort and location.Parking at rear is free but id imagine if the hotel was busy it would be full .but roadside is pay metered and i cant imagine it being an issue.We would definitely book here again as a family of five this is a hidden gem we wish we found sooner xx

Excellent room, excellent staff, excellent service. Need I say more. I’ll definitely book again 🥰. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Comfy bed and the breakfast was limitless - just wish I could’ve ate more. Full continental and cereal bar in limitless supply plus a selection of cooked breakfast. I had the full works and loved everythingExcellent location for a walk on The Hoe and Barbican. A lot of nostalgia here for me as a returning student of UP! Just loved every minute. Staff were extremely helpful and advised on a way to get 15% off at the bar which we availed of. No evening meal but the recommended nearby Indian restaurant (Everest Spice) supplied the best Indian food I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The room itself was clean , good size.Only downside was the window in the bedroom was only a few feet away from a grey brick wall.But you pay for what you get and it was good value for money.

The hotel is very nice inside and outside. Our room was clean;The only downside was bathroom radiator which was not working. We reported it but it had not been fixed during our stay.

The Grosvenor is in a good location close to The Hoe, Barbican and city centre. It was our first stay and we will definitely return. The premises are extremely well maintained, the staff are very friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent. Our double room was spacious with king size bed and large en suite. There are parking spaces available on a first come first served basis as well. All in all a top class hotel. Highly recommend.

Travelled to Plymouth to see comedy at the Pavillions which was 4 mins walk away! Perfect location to head into town for shopping, walk along the sea front and super breakfast. Would recommend.

I have stayed here twice now, such friendly helpful staff, lovely and clean. Breakfast is really high standard and waiting staff friendly too. Parking a little difficult at weekends but hotel can give you a pass for street parking for about £8 for Overnight stay. If you have to pay without a pass it's £16 at the machine which is still reasonable compared to Cambridge where I live. Hotel is really close to the seafront and barbican, this makes a lovely walk in the evening for fish and chips and coffee or the bars. Bar in hotel is great too and you can buy crisps snacks etc there also. As a single woman traveller I feel safe staying here. Will stay again.

My only issues with my stay in room 5are : the shower door does not close properly; we would have liked at least 1 small upholstered chair: we would have preferred wall mounted gel etc, to reduce plastic waste and feel that mushrooms should have been added to our breakfasts.. it would have been helpful if yogurt was marked dairy or vegan. We arrived on Friday and got a lovely parking space in the small car park. Check in was smooth, staff super friendly and efficient. The room was comfortable and spotless.Only downside was the heat, absolutely red hot. The radiator wouldn't turn down and the window only allowed a 2 inch opening.Breakfast was spot on, no complaints there.I've only knocked a star off because I melted. If you're cold blooded then it's ideal.

We stayed here for the evening while visiting Plymouth for an Uni open day. It was perfect location. The hotel was comfortable, warm (maybe too warm!) and very clean. Parking wasn’t an issue £8 for an overnight permit on the street outside. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend.

A good stay and a nice quiet night's sleep. Have stayed before so booked again. Plenty of tea, coffee etc in room and room was clean and comfortable. Particularly good was the lovely breakfast which catered for all tastes and requirements. We found this hotel very convenient for our theatre visit.

My room - single room - was small, not pretty and quite dark. Having said that it was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed. The staff that I met-- everyone of them -- were lovely. The location was brilliant and I would recommend this place to family and friends. The building is attractive and the atmosphere is friendly with a real mix of people.

This is my second time staying here. Such a lovely place to stay. I initially chose here as I was bringing my daughter to the arts university. The hotel is situated on a beautiful street with The Hoe at the very top. The breakfast that is included is absolutely amazing, and my daughter is able to join me for £10, which is brilliant value and a great idea. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else whilst visiting Plymouth.

Booked a low price room whilst visiting Plymouth University with my daughter.Room was simple but immaculate with everything you need.Breakfast was fantastic with good quality ingredients, great buffet and lovely cooked breakfast made to order.What makes this hotel though is the staff.Polite, attentive, friendly and nothing is too much trouble.Thank you for making a 'have to stay' into a treat.

Situated just down from the Hoe, and a short walk from the city centre, The Grosvenor is perfectly placed for visiting the best Plymouth has to offer.The room was neat and tidy, very clean with a very comfortable bed.Breakfast was plentiful and was served by very helpful staff. We just stayed one night as we were going to the Theatre Royal to watch the ballet.Nice room at the front but very quiet.Fortunately, we managed to bag a parking space at the rear which was lucky as there are only eight and we got the last available one.There is lots of parking on the street but you have to pay, even for overnight.Good breakfast, promptly served.Breakfast Room rather loud for us with hearing aids as it has a tiled floor and metal furniture.Would definitely stay here again.

We had a 5 night stay with breakfast recently and couldn’t fault the hotel. It was lovely and clean, the breakfast had lots of choice and the service was great. A friendly atmosphere and the staff were very helpful. It was in close walking distance to the main town centre restaurants and attractions at the Barbican. Would recommend it to anyone planning a visit to the city.

Enjoyed the stay very much, bathrooms too small, need to modernised, get rid of baths and have showers only, or selected rooms with baths. Breakfast was good, but you need bigger plates.

I came to Plymouth for my grandson graduation ceremony on the Hoe for which you are perfectly situated.I arrived on Thursday afternoon was treated by welcoming friendly staff was immediately offered help with my luggage which was much appreciated. My room was clean and comfortable. The standard of service was the same by all your staff nothing was to much trouble for them, i couldn't have been treated better. The breakfast was very good plentiful and nicely served. I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone. Two members of staff need a special mention. Katie the evening receptionist and Ruby who seemed to be there all the time. Ruby was the one who carried my bags and seemed to be everywhere helping. They made my family very welcome when they visited after the ceremony even helping my son's partner with the pushchair and picked me up of the pavement whenI tripped over outsidein the evening. I can't thank them enough for looking after me.

Located 1min walk to the Hoe & 10mins to the Barbican. Received a very friendly welcome (poss Katie?) decent size clean room, quiet area, only x6 parking spaces at the rear of hotel however hotel could arrange an on road parking permit for £8, breakfast was good (we had full English, but plenty of options) would recommend.

Good attentive staff, very helpful. Breakfast was good. Room was well appointed and kept clean. The only criticism I have was we had 4 flights of stairs to get to our room, there was no lift and my partner found them exhausting. Had I have known this I would have stipulated a room on lower level.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Grosvenor hotel this weekend. The staff are very friendly and all seem very happy in there jobs which you don't see very often these days. the hotel was very comfortable and the breakfast was really good with plenty to choose from each morning. If we had to criticize anything its that the room we stayed in could have done with a repaint.

On arrival we managed to park in front of the hotel on the street as we have a blue badge for parking this was extremely convenient. On entering the receptionist was really helpful offering us a parking permit but when we explained we have disabled badge she went on to say the room we booked was on the top floor and offered us a room on a lower floor which was very much appreciated thank you . Room was small but perfectly comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was simply fabulous offering fresh fruit ,yoghurt ,cereal and pastries then to top that freshly cooked breakfast options too , well done all the staff at this establishment you do a great job and we highly recommend anyone looking to stay in plymouth to book in here you won’t be disappointed .

Stayed one night when dropping son back to uni. The room was large, and clean and tidy. It was very hot and they had opened the windows which was appreciated. The location is good for the seafront and Barbican areas. Breakfast was nice, fruit, cereal etc followed by your choice of cooked breakfast.The only downside was another guest who came stomping in to the room above us late at night and proceeded to shout at his wife for over half an hour. I phoned the hotel reception (I was in pyjamas) but no reply so I left a message. No-one ever came back to me, and it didn't feel as if anyone was on duty overnight so that was a real shame and completely disturbed our sleep. I appreciate the guests behaviour was not the hotel's fault, hence still 4 stars, but I think you need someone available for problems even overnight. I wouldn't stay again due to concerns about soundproofing.

Just a few minutes walk off The Hoe. Great location for the cross-channel ferry, city centre, historic Barbican, the Citadel and much more. We were able to park our car at the back of the hotel.The room was comfortable but up several flights of stairs. The parts of the hotel we saw were very clean and appeared ‘recently’ painted.We would be happy to stay here again.

Hotel in brilliant location to centre. Lovely breakfast and room ok if a little dated. However didn’t get much sleep as only had a thick duvet and the temperature was 25. Tossed and turned all night as no sheet in room. Maybe reception had them but didn’t ask.

A good hotel. We seem to be given the top Flor every time we stay in this hotel! Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. Room insulation is not brilliant and we heard evry word the man next door talked until early morning and parking can be difficult.

The hotel was great. The serving staff at breakfast were so so helpful and nothing was to much trouble. First class.Down sidebreakfast room was too small and for meClaustrophobic.Bedroom door key took a bit of giggling, to open and lock. But we took this as our daily challenge.

Not the first time I have stayed here, nor will it be the last. Practical and nicely cleaned rooms. Excellent breakfast. Perfect location just a couple of minutes walk from Plymouth Hoe and five from the main shopping area. Excellent value for such a prime location.

We only atayed for one night at the Grosvenor but we really liked it. The hotel is well presented and stylish (everything looked fresh and not 'tired'). The room was clean and the bed waa comfortable. We had everything we needed including complimemtary hair conditioner, which is always welcome! There was tea and coffee in the room with real milk sachets and nice biscuits. The room we were in was exceptionally quiet which is great for a light sleeper like me. The staff were very pleasant and attentive and breakfast was really good. Highly recommended.

What a lovely hotel and a fantastic location , 2 minutes from the seafront and 5 minutes from the theatre and all shops. The room was big bright and airy and the bed so comfortable , the staff so helpful and lovely and a very good breakfast ! Lots of selection along with cooked choices. Hotel was very pleasant, I took breakfast early at 7am to make the most of my days in Devon, Staff were very friendly, and offered a cooked breakfast to the guests, the room was very clean and comfortable, will definitely book again next time I am in Plymouth. Very warm welcome, team members on reception in the evening and in the morning were both really lovely. I was travelling for work so just had a small single room and no breakfast as out early. It was all fine, good value for money. The room was a bit noisy as I could hear my neighbors clearly through the wall but I was too tired to let it bother me!

Stay at this hotel every year when we come down for the submarine reunion. Staff lovely and friendly and breakfast always good..The only problem with it is if you don’t book a room on the first floor it can be a bit of a hike up the stairs as there is no lift. I always book room 6 which is lovely

Clean hotel and rooms, great housekeeping, staff really helpful and friendly. Breakfast excellent including the waiting staff, chef great at cooking eggs with a superb breakfast, caters well for vegetarians. Easy walking distance to the waterfront and town centre. Limited parking. I have made a suggestion that smokers maybe don't use front entrance as the smell did travel into the bar area and into my bedroom as immediately above the entrance, maybe different in other rooms. I would definitely book again.

Great location for what we wanted. Walkable to Theatre Royal and The Barbican. Everything you could need for us although a small fridge would have been useful. Very clean throughout hotel and staff are lovely and very friendly. Early check in at 12.00 for £10 was a godsend as we were watching Shrek at 2 so great to freshen up and change beforehand. Also managed to get the last free parking space in their car park. Result. Would definitely stay again.

I have stayed here many times. Its in a good location with good staff and gives value for money. The room and facilities were good though this time I found the plumbing a little loud especially if the next door room ran water in the night. Maybe a simple pressure reduction valve in this area would help. That said I look forward to booking and staying again.

From being allowed to leave your bags before taking the room to leaving the service as been excellent.The Staff are very friendly,they leave you to enjoy your stay in rooms that are kept clean and tidy and the breakfast in which you have a choice is better than some Restaurant's I have eaten in. Great Room, location, and breakfast. Quiet street. Efficient (if somewhat cold) staff. The main downside was the soft bed. I like it firm. This one sank too deep and was slightly tilted on one side. I have so far experienced many soft beds in England. Maybe it's a national thing (and I am not particularly demanding on mattress support - I just expect an average firmness)

We traveled by train and having been to Plymouth before knew after checking the map where the hotel was located. Being a nice day, came out of the railway station turned left. You can see the top of the lighthouse on the Hoe in front of you, a gentle 15/20 minute stroll takes you to the hotel. Wonderful setting, a good sized room. A good breakfast pleasant, friendly staff. Hotel in good position for the harbour and shopping, definitely recommend. We stayed 19th to22nd of June 2023.

This was our second stay at The Grosvenor in Plymouth and once again we enjoyed it. The location is ideal for walking up to the Hoe and then along to the Barbican and even itto the city centre for shopping.We had a lovely welcome from the Reception staff on our arrival and equally the rest of the staff we encountered during our stay were very polite and friendly.The breakfast was very good (full English for us) with all the additional extras of juices and pastries etc. and a wide choice of teas and coffees.Our room wasn’t quite as nice as last time in that we missed not having bay windows, especially as it was extremely warm - thank goodness there was a portable fan! But overall it was comfortable and suited our needs.We would not hesitate to stay again and recommend it to others.
